Description of Accommodation:
You will be staying in the historic and beautiful Lahaina
town, Maui, an internationally famed travel destination.
Accommodations are at the brand new Aina Nalu luxury resort condominiums.
These are two story condos with an old Hawaiian feel, but all
the modern luxuries, including designer furnishings, stone showers,
full kitchen, washer dryer, and flat screen TVs.
There are loads
of great restaurants, cafés, and shops within steps of
your front door. One of the best beginner surfing beaches on Maui
where we'll be learning to surf is just a short stroll away.
There
is a frequent $1 shuttle that runs from Lahaina town to Kaanapali,
just 10 minutes away, where you can enjoy more shops, restaurants
and beautiful snorkeling and swimming.

Nora
Mangiamele:
Nora has been practicing yoga for the last 15 years and is a
teacher at Yoga Works, the foremost studio in Orange
County, CA where she received her teaching certification.
Nora's teaching style is playful, creative, uplifting
and self-empowering. Her gift is her ability to motivate
and encourage her students to go beyond the ordinary and
discover their extraordinary.
She will be our lead yogi on this retreat and will teach
our afternoon flow sessions which will encourage you to
deepen your practice.
Barbara Won:
Barbara has been practicing yoga for the last nine years and received her certification from Leeann Carey at Planet Yoga in Hermosa Beach, CA. She has taught yoga to Olympic Swimmers and Water Polo Players, teaches yoga at UCSB, and is currently producing a yoga video entitled 'Yoga for Swimmers.' Barbara has a second home on Maui and has a love for the water and surfing, especially on Maui! Barbara will be leading morning meditaions, teaching restorative yoga.
The Food:
Each morning you will be treated to a light breakfast...think fruit,
muffins or energy snacks. All dinners will be provided, our menu will be created
especially for us by a local chef. Lunches are free so you can explore all of
the wonderful restaurants that Lahiana town has to offer!

What the waves are like:
First the water is warm, the waves are rolling and it’s
shallow enough to
stand on the ground if you want to. Waves break both right
and left and there
is plenty of Aloha spirit for beginners at this spot. There
is an inside break
perfect for beginners and a more challenging outside break
that you can try
out as you progress. You will be taught by a 'Girls
Gone Surfing' instructor
who has at least 10 years surfing experience, knows the
local break and can
help you rip! GGS has taught hundreds of surfers to catch
their first wave and
improve their wave riding skills.
